As the subject says, is this project still being supported?
I think so?
Unfortunately, I was in a pretty severe car accident at the beginning of December, so I haven't been a part of that conversation since then.
But, I do have a pair of active servers running in our company, and have been modding those as needed, so if you need some help, I'm generally willing to chat about openPLM if Philippe is not around to provide official support for some reason.
There was some talk about a new version, but I'm not sure if that is still in the works. In any case, if you're interested in using this, don't hesitate to ask here. It's not my project, but I've tinkered with it a lot, and I'll try to help where I can.

I'm the main developer of OpenPLM.
I'm working on other projects but I still have a look at all discussions/tickets.
I try to answer to questions but I do not develop anymore.
May be, I'll start a crowdfunding campain to upgrade OpenPLM...

First of all I'd like to thank everybody who's involved in this project, I have very little experience with PLM software, but to have one that is fully open source and made available to the public is outstanding.
Following the latest instructions I ran into several issues when installing this on Ubuntu 14.04 server. Just for reference, this is the link that I used, http://www.openplm.org/trac/docs/2.0/en/admin/ht_1_install_server.html
I figured out 2 of my 3 issues, I thought I should mention them in case anybody runs into them.
- Ubuntu now uses apache 2.4 which means that the virtual host file changes somewhat. I used the following:
<VirtualHost *:80> ServerName example.com DocumentRoot /var/www WSGIScriptAlias / /var/django/openPLM/apache/django.wsgi # required to enable webdav access WSGIPassAuthorization On <Location ~ "/media/(?!public)"> WSGIAccessScript /var/django/openPLM/apache/access_restricted.wsgi </Location> Alias /static /var/django/openPLM/static <Directory /var/django/openPLM/static> Require all granted </Directory> Alias /media /var/django/openPLM/media <Directory /var/django/openPLM/media> Require all granted </Directory> </VirtualHost>
- After this, I was able to access the webpage but received a Reportlab Version error. Specifically "Reportlab Version 2.1+ is needed!"
My fix for this was as follows:
# Change these lines if not(reportlab.Version == "2" and reportlab.Version >= "1"): raise ImportError("Reportlab Version 2.1+ is needed!") REPORTLAB22 = (reportlab.Version == "2" and reportlab.Version >= "2") ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- # To this if not (reportlab.Version[:3]>="2.1"): raise ImportError("Reportlab Version 2.1+ is needed!") REPORTLAB22 = (reportlab.Version[:3]>="2.1")
Once this issue was fixed. I am not able to access the webpage and begin using the software as intended.
- Enabling HTTPS
I am using a self-signed certificate. I was able to load up the module and modify the /usr/django/openPLM/settings.py as well as the /etc/apache2/sites-available/openplm.conf files in order to enable HTTPS.
The problem that I have is when I load the webpage, it doesn't look right. All of the content is there but it's just a white background with text.jrios03/10/16 15:52:39 (4 years ago)

I didn't investigate a lot but it seems you don't access to the css files, js files and all static images. I don't know why. May be apache configuration, may be directories access rights (should be owned by user www-data), may be settings.py configuration, may be apache.wsgi file.pjoulaud03/11/16 17:20:47 (4 years ago)
I would like to try to install OpenPLM as I am searching for a new PDM solution. I would like to know if there is still someone which can provide some supports to help regarding the issues during the installation. The first question I d like to ask is, do we have to install on linux or is the solution also available on windows?
